Congratulations Layered Heart

Hello lovely crafters. Hope all is well with you.

Finally got around to having a play with some new dies from Creative Expressions.  I've used the lovely Layered Heart from Sue Wilson's background collection. It has little lift up elements in the flowers.

I created my own pearlescent background using Cosmic Shimmer Metallic Gilding Polish in Mint and then cut the detailed die. I also used some square dies from Lisa Horton and Carnation Crafts.  The sentiment was cut and layered up using  an Hunkydory die.  I also used an Xcut punch for some extra flowers.  I finished with black gems.

Just for You layered rose

Hello lovely crafters. Hope all is well with you.

I've been having a go at some layered stamps today. I like the effect you get without too much effort and the lifting of the final stencil to reveal the finished image is always exciting!

I chose to use Altenew ink pads as they come in colour families with the right shades of colour together.  The stamp was from Sara Sig. Rose Garden. The rectangular die was a magazine freebie, the sentiment was a Marianne Design die and the papers were from Craft Sensations. I completed the card with some spotty ribbon and clear gems.

Have a Wonderful Day

Hello lovely crafters. Hope all is well with you.

Doesn't time fly is all I'm going to say :)

On to today's card. I fell in love with this stamp when I saw it - butterflies and flowers, my favourite combo.

I stamped this Creative Expressions image onto Hunkydory stamping card with Memento black ink and coloured with my Promarkers.  I also added a generous amount of glitter to the flowers
and butterfly.   The colours chosen go well with the Gina K papers which I also fell in love with.
(It's easy to fall in love with Crafty stuff. It's an affliction we all suffer from I think!!). I completed the card with gem stones and a dimensions butterfly sticker from PM.

Other items used:
Dies: SB Labels 18, SD Sig. Torn Note Paper, border from The Works
Sentiment stamp from Dovecraft Sweet Paris

Glittery Birthday

Hello lovely crafters. Hope all is well with you.

I dug out some old tonic die and EF sets recently ( trying to use more old stash!)

I used gold linen card and black glitter card. I quite like the black and gold combination. I did a second pass through my machine to bring out the embossed detail.

The sentiment die is from Yvonne Creations with a Tonic floral flourish die behind.
I added some die cut and punched butterflies.

Sparkly Heels

Hello lovely crafters. Hope all is well with you.

I've finally found the time to visit blogland! I'm continuing with my quest to use up older papers, toppers and kits.

For this card I used a leftover smaller topper from Hunkydory and cut into it using a Gemini Inverted  Circle die. I used a Tonic pin dot die for the base layer and a Hunkydory EF which I cut out with a Lisa Horton scalloped square. Some gems and a ribbon finish off the card.

Paper Posies

Hello lovely crafters. Hope all is well with you.

Today's card uses the lovely Paper Posies papers from Dovecraft.

I've used a favourite SB die ( Detailed Scallops) for the first layer. I love to use this die with 7 x 5 scalloped cards as the scallops in the die seem to nest nicely with the scallops of the card. Other dies I've used include Time for Tea, Stamps by Chloe (flowers) and a selection of Sweet Dixie leaf dies. The acetate butterfly is from Hunkydory.

First Wedding Anniversary

Hello lovely crafters. Hope all is well with you.

I have lots of Hunkydory topper books but don't use them enough. They're great for quick cards. As the image was already done, I was able to take more time ( and enjoyed) embellishing this card.

I used a MB border and Sweet Dixie corner, flower and leaves dies. I also added lots of pearls and glitter glue. The Paper was from First Edition.

Special Day

Hello lovely crafters. Hope all is well with you.

A quick and simple card today.

I've used a Card Deco Slimline die for my card shape - I love the rounded corners and stitched detail.  I used the central die to cut out the 3 apertures and then stuck two back in, slightly raised with pads. The flower was fussy cut from the lovely Pawsitivity paper pad. I stamped a Honey Doo sentiment in the  centre aperture and finished with an assortment of gems.

Together Forever

Hello lovely crafters. Hope all is well with you.

Here is my card for today.

I coloured in this cute stamp from Hunkydory with my Promarkers. No patterned paper on this card just lots of die cut layers ( TL., Cr. Comp., SW.)
The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed and I doodled a border with a white pen.

A Rose For You

Hello lovely crafters. Hope all is well with you.

A different shaped card today.  I seem to be more interested these days in cards which are not the regular square or rectangle shape, so expect to see more!

The die (Studiolight Essentials)  did all the hard work for this card, I just layered up the different elements. I wanted to keep the rose theme running through the card and used an old magazine freebie die for the rose inside the card. I inked up the flowers with Victorian Velvet DI and embellished the butterflies which are from the paper pad (Sara Sig. Caring Thoughts) with some gems.

Here is the closed card. It wanted to spring open so I had to weigh it down with the paper pad and some scissors to take the pic! It does fold nice and flat and stands up very well too.

Celebrate

Hello lovely crafters. Hope all is well with you.

I love embossing folders but feel I don't use them enough. So I decided to have a little play and try some different techniques.

This 3D folder (Blooming Peony) from Lisa Horton is fast becoming my favourite. I was very impressed with the depth of embossing and decided to further highlight the flowers by going over them with a white Spectrum Noir pigment ink pad. I think this technique  brings even more life to the image.

I didn't want to cover up too much of the embossed area with a topper etc so I die cut a heart (MB)  and a sentiment (Poppystamps), layering each one several times for more dimension. I framed it all with Lisa Horton Stitched Scalloped Squares. It's hard to make out but the heart and sentiment are covered with Sparkle glitter pen and a couple of pearls finish it all off.

It's Spring

Hello lovely crafters. Hope all is well with you.

I've had this stamp for a while and now seemed the appropriate time to use it. Having said that, I don't think the poor seeds and plants in the garden know whether to start growing or not with all this wintry weather we've been having in the UK!

After stamping in Memento Cocoa on watercolour card, I decided to colour the image using my Inktense pencils. I love the bright intensity of colour these pencils give, which can then be muted with water.

I used paper from the same Craft Consortium Cottage Garden collection as the stamps and as well as the Gemini Inverted Scalloped Rectangles, I also used SW and Lisa Horton flower and leaf dies. A brush of Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen added some glitter.

Floral Posy - Lisa Horton

Hello lovely crafters. Hope all is well with you.

The colour challenge on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog caught my eye, especially as it includes my favourite colour turquoise.

I used the  Edgecutz dies from Lisa Horton to cut into my card. I inked onto another piece of card in turquoise and green DIs and stuck this behind.  I used the extra flower dies to cut more flowers - solid out of inked turquoise and navy cards and  outline from  gold mirri card. I finished with a few gem and pearl clusters.

If only there were real flowers in this colour, they would definitely be in my garden!

Other dies used: Carnation Crafts Shabby Stitched Rectangles
DP: Craft Sensations
DIs , gems and pearls

Challenges:

As You Like It - favourite season: it has to be spring.  Something to look forward to during the dark months and when it arrives, everything is bursting into life in fresh, vivid colours ( which tend to dull over summer).

Echinacea

Hello lovely crafters. Hope all is well with you.

I love echinaceas (or coneflowers ) - one of the highlights of the late summer garden, and so I couldn't resist treating myself to one of the new Woodware stamps.

I really enjoyed colouring this with my Promarkers. I kept the layout simple using some Bright Ombre Cardstock from Craft Sensations and a Pinkfresh Studios frame die.

I chose warm colours this time but I know I'll be colouring this stamp in many different colours.

Arianna Blooms

Hello lovely crafters. Hope all is well with you.

I have a slimline card to share today.

I blended distress oxide ink to create the background behind the apertures and dug out a favourite Memory Box die Arianna Bloom to die cut the flower, swapping the colours over for the central flower.

I shortened  the stem a little bit and added lots of sparkle with a Spectrum Noir clear glitter pen.

I didn't want to waste the swirls that I snipped off the flowers , so I glued these back onto the card. I finished with some sequins. The dies I used were from Gemini, MB and Pinkfresh Studios.

Spring Picnic

Hello lovely crafters. Hope all is well with you.

No teddy bears in the woods today - only these cuties enjoying their picnic!

The weather today is perfect for a picnic or just a walk in the woods and I can't wait to visit my local woods soon to enjoy the bluebells and wild garlic :)

This cute topper and papers are from Craft Consortium Bluebells and Buttercups.
I have also used dies from Carnation Crafts, MB and JND.

I've added some die cut  grass along the bottom and stamped the sentiment.

Shoes and handbag for 50th birthday

Hello lovely crafters. Hope all is well with you in these turbulent times.

Gosh, I can't believe it's been that long since my last post!! Time is definitely flying past!

I've just been so busy with work and things happening at home. Crafting has had to simmer on the back burner for a bit but I did manage to make this card for a colleague to give to her friend.

The colours are the recipient's favourites and she likes her handbags and shoes.

I used a Chloe EF - once in white for the base,  then again in black and fussy cut the bag and shoes and finally in mustard for the bows, flower and tassle. I used another floral EF in the background and finished with die cut flourishes and black gems. The sentiment was done on the computer.

Thanks for popping by. Hope to be back soon!

Take care.
